my story

Jewelart contemporary designer jewellery is individually created with love and imagination by jewellery artist Sam Rowena Taylor at her rural Lancashire studio-workshop.

Many of my designs first take shape in my dreams and are inspired by our ancient landscapes - its symbols, myths and legends - the elements of life and its changing seasons.

I use my main tools - my hands - to shape, bend, twist and sew copper and sterling silver wire, then I combine it with either colourful beautiful beads, vintage buttons or fused glass to create my distinctive sculptural wirework jewellery and brooches.

The alchemy of glass and how it plays and interacts with light has always fascinated me. Its ability to combine unique abstract shapes with so much sparkle and beauty. I try to capture these elements and share them with you in my fused glass jewellery collection.

It all began from a desire to be able to create and wear something unique - that would express my individuality - using some of the beautiful beads I came across on my travels. Then, over the years my jewellery making knowledge, skills and unique designs have developed. My passion for my hobby grew and it turned into a small creative business that I run alongside my teaching work. I sell my work at a number of designer-maker and other events across Lancashire / the North-West plus a few annual exhibitions and galleries. Now, I bring my work to a wider audience...

Join me on my journey,

yours, Sam Rowena x
